**Nellie's 2006 colt is being offered for sale----see below! Not many people give a mare her own page. However, we felt it was fitting as Bar Pat Nell (aka "Nellie") is a "first" for us. We totally fit her for her competition at the 1999 National Appaloosa Horse Show where she was awarded National Champion in Most Colorful at Halter. Harvey Stevens (Special Report's trainer in Reining and Working Cow Horse) led her in the ring. Nellie has competed very well in Halter with 296 1/2 points to her credit, a Bronze Medallion earner, a Superior in Open Halter Mares, and a Superior in Most Colorful at Halter. Nellie was purchased from Tillman Ethridge of Ethridge Appaloosas when she was a yearling. From the time we first saw her, we adored her! However, it took Mr. Ethridge a while before he would turn loose of her. After we bought her and had her with us for a while, Mr. Ethridge told us that he decided to sell her because she wasn't filling out and was thin and all legs. However, to Mr. Ethridge's surprise, Nellie started growing and putting on muscle. Nellie accumulated most of her points with limited showing in the Texas and Oklahoma area. We went to one show in Arkansas, one show in Kansas, and one show in Missouri. Not only that, but the largest percent of the time it was usually one of us with the lead line in hand. What an exciting time we had showing her. She is a pleasure to show and super smart. Nellie is a 1996 liver chestnut near leopard. She is gorgeous and the sweetheart of our barn. |

After four years of showing, Nellie was tired and bored with it. She is now retired from the show ring and is a wonderful broodmare. Nellie has a fantastic disposition and personality. She loves kisses from Larry and loves attention from everyone. Nellie's sire is Trivial Pursuit by Rimwold's Prince Paul. Nellie's dam is Impressive Nancy by Impressive (AQHA). Nellie will be bred to An Awesome Secret for a 2008 foal. **We are currently offering for sale Nellie's outstanding colored 2006 colt, Touchdown Kids MVP (aka "Rocket"), by Winning Touchdown (see photo on Reference Sire page), by Touchdown Kid (AQHA). Rocket should be a very nice halter and stallion prospect. He is beautiful--nice neck without any sweating, excellent hip, lots of size---just over all a pretty picture! Rocket is a chestnut with a blaze, spots on his hips, 2 stockings. I'm not sure, but there is a good chance that Rocket could get more color. His half brother that started out marked up just like him, by the time he was 2, had small white spots all over him and loads of mottled skin. Time will tell! Rocket is HYPP N/N.
